Registering Your Domain
When you register a .co.uk or .uk domain through Jdomains, the registration itself sits directly with Nominet, the official registry for all .uk domain names. In this relationship, we act as your registrar and administrative point of contact — but the domain is registered in your name, not ours. That means it’s your responsibility to make sure the details you give us at registration are accurate and kept up to date.
Registering a domain gives you the right to use it for the length of the term you’ve paid for, and no longer. To keep it active, it needs to be renewed on time. If it isn’t, the domain may enter a suspension period, and if it remains unrenewed, it can ultimately become available for someone else to register.
Pricing
The standard cost to register or renew a .uk domain with us is £10 per year. If this pricing changes, we’ll let you know in advance of the change taking effect. There’s no charge for transferring a domain away to another registrar.
Renewals
Keeping your domain renewed on time is your responsibility as the registrant. As a courtesy, we send renewal reminders where we can — generally around 30 days before expiry, and again around 7 days beforehand, in line with the minimum notice period Nominet requires registrars to give.
We make every effort to get these reminders to you, but we can’t guarantee delivery in every case, so it’s worth keeping your contact details current to give yourself the best chance of receiving them.
Transferring Your Domain
In line with Nominet’s rules on transfers, you’re free to move your domain to a different registrar whenever you choose. We don’t charge a fee for outgoing transfers.
Limitation of Liability
Jdomains accepts no liability for loss or damage arising from a failure to renew a domain, disruption caused by third parties, or action taken by Nominet under its own policies. Where liability is found to rest with us, it will be limited to the amount you’ve paid us in fees for the domain in question.
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes or complaints relating to .uk domain registrations are handled under Nominet’s Dispute Resolution Service (DRS), in accordance with its governing policy. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can find the relevant Nominet documents below:
One thing worth double-checking before this goes live: I’ve kept the 30-day/7-day renewal reminder timing as you had it, since that meets the minimum notice period Nominet’s registrar obligations mention — but as with the abuse policy, the exact wording your RRA commits you to (e.g. any specific suspension-period length, or DRS procedural details) should be checked against your actual signed agreement once you have your tag, rather than relying solely on the public registrar resources I’ve drawn from here.
