At Jdomains, we’re committed to making sure the domains registered through us are never used to cause harm. Whether a report comes from a member of the public, a fellow registrar, or Nominet itself, we take it seriously and act on it properly.

What Counts as Domain Abuse

Abuse of a domain name can take many forms. This includes, without limitation:

Phishing attempts, or impersonation of a legitimate organisation or website
The spread of malware, ransomware, or other malicious software
Fraudulent activity, scams, or other misleading conduct
Unsolicited spam or mass messaging
Botnet command-and-control activity or other DNS infrastructure abuse
Breaches of intellectual property rights
Any other activity that contravenes UK law or Nominet’s policies

How to Report It

If you suspect a domain registered through Jdomains is being misused, please email the address listed on our Contact page. To help us investigate quickly, please include, where possible:

The domain name in question
A clear description of what you’ve observed
Supporting evidence — for example, relevant URLs, screenshots, or email headers
A way to contact you if we need more information

We also receive abuse notifications directly from Nominet’s own abuse reporting platform, which forwards validated reports about domains under our tag. These are handled with the same priority as reports from the public.

What Happens Next

Every report we receive is reviewed without delay, in line with UK law, our obligations under the Registry-Registrar Agreement, and Nominet’s requirements as our registry. You can expect an acknowledgement of your report within one working day.

If our investigation confirms abuse has taken place, we’ll take proportionate action — this may include contacting the registrant, suspending the domain, or escalating the matter to the relevant authorities or to Nominet. Please bear in mind that legal or confidentiality considerations sometimes limit what we’re able to share with you about the specific action taken, but we’ll always let you know your report has been dealt with.
